Phoenix Launch range of Fused Couplers/Splitters

Phoenix increases its product portfolio with the addition of Couplers and Power Splitters. These form the start of the coupler WDM rage of components designed for Telecom, T&M and Defence sectors; these high performance components are fully telcordia compliant and are available immediately.

Greek connection returns:

One of the key engineers in developing the Phoenix all-fiber evanescent field technology has returned from military service and taken up a senior engineering position in the Phoenix R&D lab. Michael who has many years experience in developing discrete and arrayed fiber components is a welcomed addition to the Phoenix R&D team, and he is already making his mark with some great new product ideas. His return reunites the original team who developed the optical fiber evanescent field technology to a high yield, low cost production process for ProtoDel International.

DTI Smart award:

Phoenix Photonics has won a UK DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) SMART award to help develop its integrated all-fiber range of products. This prestigious award will enable Phoenix to accelerate the release of its multi-functionality and multi-channel range of products. The technology is based on a completely new concept of fusing the major benefits derived from both all-fiber and integrated waveguide technologies.

Phoenix Expands overseas network:

Phoenix Photonics is currently expanding its overseas network of representatives to enhance the service to customers. The company welcomes Optimark operating on the East coast of the US and Neotron and Meisho both based in Japan from whom the full range of optical fiber components can be sourced. Phoenix is in talks with other organizations and is interested in working with suitable partners, who can provide effective customer relation channels in different global geographical locations.

Phoenix launches start of Multimode range:

Phoenix has launched a Multimode Shutter designed specifically for datacomm applications to form the start of its multimode component range. This component is an example of the evanescent field technology versatility, the multimode Shutter is a spin off from the current SMF version; keep your eyes open for the Multimode VOA and bypass switch.

Power Monitor - Start of WDM component range:

The newly launched Power Monitor is a significant marker for the future of Phoenix non-invasive components. This single channel discrete device is designed to replace the requirement for a tap coupler-photodiode combination for EDFA gain modules, DWDM channel power balancing, optical channel monitoring and power control among other applications. However it is the first in a wide range of telecommunication network targeted components and fully integrated supercomponent modules demonstrating the full potential of the all-fiber evanescent field technology base to provide the optimum technical and cost solution.
